Physics

JC/IB/IP/NUS High Physics

We provide 2 types of tuition for JC/IB/IP/NUS Physics.

The first type: It involves clarification of concepts or even explanation of the whole chapter(s) you are unsure of. Notes provided. Some worked examples are given. Usually no question will be given for practice as this focus solely on understanding concepts. It usually lasts for 2 hours.

The second type: It involves helping students to solve physics questions which they are unable to solve or unsure if they are correct. If time persists, they will be given selected question according to their level of problem solving. This can be 2 hours or more.

Physics is a branch of physics sciences and is the fundamental of all sciences and Nature, which can be elusive, strange and abstract to many; thus causing physics to appear boring to them.  Understanding physics involves imagination, visualizing, drawings of diagrams and using of mathematics.

For any physics hypothesis proven mathematically in theory needs to be also proven experimentally.  The latter is limited to the available technology and depth of thinking that we, as modern human beings, have.  Sometimes, we cannot get answers.  Scientists or science thinkers should be open-minded enough to accept that not every answer can be found. For example, what exactly is a quasar, what causes it to form?  Will the universe keep on expanding or collapse forming Big Crunch?  What makes up dark matter?  How does gravity fit into the Standard Model?  No one knows yet.  But that does not mean it will never be known.  Continous curiosity is the driver of discoveries which follow a series of steps known as The Scientific Method.

All natural sciences have physics in them.  For example, the working of microscope involves principles of lenses and light; the pumping of the heart, the blood pressure; in chemistry, the thermodynamics involves when matter change from one state to another or when they undergo chemical reaction.  Similarly biology has chemistry in it such as molecular biology.  Physics also forms the basis of various fields of engineering: civil engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics and even architecture!

There are many branches of physics such as mechanics, optics, thermodynamics, electrodynamics, acoustics, aerodynamics, quantum physics, particle physics, relativity etc.

Secondary to Junior Colleges Tuition Lessons

There is also physics for primary school students, but all under 'General Science'.  Below are the levels of physics offered here:

  • Secondary 1 and 2 physics (N/O'level and IP stream)

  • Secondary 3 and 4 physics (N/O'level and IP stream)

  • IB physics

  • Junior College 1 and 2 physics (A'level)

  • Private candidates and general public

Tuition lessons include in the form of small classes (max 5 students) as well as one to one tuition.

Experiments

These experiments can amaze the kids but some involve physics principles that will not strike the interest of many.

  • Shooting Foil

  • Dancing Coil

  • Spinning Foil

  • Illusion Mirrors

  • Short-sighted spectacles without lenses

  • Weird laser

  • 'Pee' Bottle Experiments

  • Spinning upright screw

  • Spinning Straw

  • Rolling Wire

  • The simple paper plane

  • Moving Battery

  • String Conference

  • and more coming up!

Apart from demonstrating the experiments, there are also detailed explanations on how and why they work. After which they can try the experiments themselves.   People from all works of life, all ages are welcome to sign up. So not just for kids or teens!  If you have birthday parties, student care events, company entertainments or simply just one person passionate in sciences, we welcome you to sign up.
